Description
This dimmer switch is suitable for most types of lighting circuits.
They come with an adjustable minimum lighting level dial on the rear of the dimmer module.
The dimmerwill emit a faint buzz and may become warm while in operation, this is quite normal and no cause for concern.
Do not use with 'trailing edge', 'lagging edge' and 'phase lagging' dimmable transformers.
Minimum level dimming adjustment
There can be issues with dimming CFL and LED lamps at a low lighting level. the light output from the lamp can 'collapse', suddenly switch off, rather than continuing dimming to a low level. The DM400AP 400W module has a minimum level dial on therear of the module which can be used to adjust the lighting outputat a low level, to stabilise the load.
Most dimmable CFL's and LED's will not achive as low a light level as incandescent or halogen lamps.
The dimming range of dimmable CFL's and LED's can vary from lamp to lamp and manufacturer to manufacturer.
CFL's and LED's may suddenly switch off (no visible light output) or are unstable (extensive flickering or flashing) during low level dimming, that will lead to damage or degradation of the lamp.
