IMT23003 Socket Tester
Ensure your plug sockets are correctly wired and connected with this socket tester, which also includes a button for testing the function of RCD's and RCBO's.
To test sockets simply plug the device into the chosen socket and switch the socket on, compare the lit Neon lights with the check list on the device to ascertain the status of the socket under test. Repeat for all the sockets in the building.
A clear indication of a *PE error will be shown on the small LED screen if a dangerous contact voltage is present at PE
*PE = Protective Earth or Ground
To test RCD's and RCBO's Most modern domestic and commercial circuit boards include RCD or RCBO which are designed to trip if there is a fault in any part of the circuit or installation. This is to protect from fire or damage to the building.
How to test RCD's and RCBO's: Plug the device into any socket that is protected by an RCD or RCBO, press and release the small test button to the centre bottom of the device, if the RCD or RCBO is functioning correctly there should be a loss of power to the socket/circuit under test after testing reset the trip. If the RCD or RCBO failed to trip then this may indicate that there is a fault with the trip. Only one test per circuit is n ecessary.
Any failed or faulty RCD or RCBO must be replace as soon as possible to maintain full protection
